Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Hanmi Bank share its customers’ information with other companies?
No, Hanmi Bank does not disclose your non-public personal information to our affiliate or any other companies without your consent unless it is permitted by laws.

2. I can’t find the sections where I previously marked my privacy opt-out choices in this year’s privacy
notice. Where can I find them?
You don’t need to opt-out anymore. Hanmi Bank revised our privacy policy not to disclose your non-public personal information to anyone without your consent unless it is permitted by laws. In other word, Hanmi Bank treats all of our individual customers like they already opted out.

3. Why am I receiving this privacy notice again? Can Hanmi Bank stop sending it to me in the future?
We understand you may feel that these notices are redundant. However, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Fair Credit Report Act mandate financial institutions provide each customer with a privacy notice annually to inform him/her of the financial institutions’ privacy policy on customer information. We regret to inform you that we cannot stop sending you our privacy notice simply because it is mandated by the laws.
For your information, an amendment to the Privacy Regulations was proposed in May 2014 that a financial institution can stop mailing an annual privacy notice and post its privacy notice on its website instead if it can meet certain conditions.
